  • FM SM70 Fixed ozone monitors – All variants and measurement ranges

With immediate effect from 1 December 2021.

Earlier this year, global supply of the microcontroller (“micro”) used on many Aeroqual products began to experience significant lead-time increases which required us to reprioritize availability of the SM50.

The global supply of micros has since worsened and is causing headaches for many manufacturing industries that use electronics, including Aeroqual. As a result, we need to rationalize our product range using these micros, to products for which we have no alternative offering, and that typically have a longer operational life.

The SM50 and SM70 boards, and by association the SM70 fixed ozone monitor do not fit the rationalization criteria and their sales volumes create an ongoing risk to the viability of the other products in our range, from handheld monitors to our AQM 65, that serve a wide customer base including city networks and regulatory agencies.

Alternative products to consider as replacement solution are the Series 900 and Series 930 fixed ozone monitors. These offer the same ozone measurement range options, include measurement and control outputs, and have the flexibility of measuring other gases.

For existing SM50 and SM70 ozone sensor boards and the SM70 fixed ozone monitors, we will continue to support these as follows:

  • Replacement parts for (2) years from date of this letter.

Note: Maximum order quantities may be applied to manage supply.

Yes, if your order was submitted to Aeroqual prior to the discontinuance date of 01 December 2021 you will receive your order. Note, longer lead times of 6 to 12 weeks have applied since April 2021.

Hopefully you can integrate one of our other products (See No. 4 above), we acknowledge this may not be possible and that you may need to source a solution elsewhere. We will continue to provide replacement sensor boards until December 2023, we recommend you look at replacing the integrated sensor components before this date.

No, but we will be happy to discuss how our other ozone monitoring solutions could fit your application.

Yes, speak to one of our sales team to discuss this.
