Product Overview
Maintaining an up-to-date calibration certificate gives you and project stakeholders confidence in the data from the air monitoring instruments. But sending equipment away for calibration can take weeks, which is downtime you can’t afford. Holding spares in reserve is an additional cost and can be a logistical nightmare.
Aeroqual Hot-swap makes the process of factory calibration easy. We send you a freshly calibrated module from our stock. You replace the old module with the new one and send the old one back to us. And that’s it – calibration all up to date and zero downtime.
“We recently used Hot-swap to swap two modules. It only took about 15 minutes. I’d probably let the customer do the swap next time. Overall, it was a simple process.”

How does the Aeroqual Hot-swap work?
When your calibration certificate is coming up for expiry, Hot-swap the module in three easy steps:
Place an order with your local supplier.
They can either ship you the replacement module, or arrange a time to visit your site.
Swap your existing module for one that has been factory refurbished and calibrated.
These modules are typically replaced within 15 minutes of being on site.
The Hot-swap currently covers Profiler and PM Optical Modules (9722-1 and 82850 respectively) for AQM 65, AQS 1 and Dust Sentry products.

FAQs
Aeroqual Hot-swap keeps your calibration certificate up to date without the downtime. We send you a fully refurbished and calibrated module before you need to remove your old one. This allows for a quick replacement swap, after which the old module can be shipped back to us.
Maintaining an up-to-date calibration certificate gives you and project stakeholders confidence in the data.
Zero Downtime
Normally if your module required calibration, it would need to be sent back to the manufacturer. However, this could take up to 6 weeks before it’s returned (for a particulate module). This is downtime you can’t afford. Previously, your only option was to purchase a replacement part or hire another air monitoring station during this time. Aeroqual Hot-swap is the solution, reducing disruption and downtime for your monitoring equipment.
Standard Warranty
Aeroqual Hot-swap goes beyond your current product warranty. The standard warranty protects against product defects. Parts on your product have a natural life depending on the time it was first used and your local environment. A standard warranty does not cover wear and tear, neglect, or a module’s natural end of life.
Aeroqual Hot-swap has been designed for customers who value the accuracy of their air quality data, want to maintain fully calibrated equipment for regulatory reasons, and need to maintain a high level of monitoring uptime and availability.

Your calibration certificate is in the product box you received. Alternatively, you can check Aeroqual Cloud to see when you last logged the work for a module swap. It’s important to remember that calibration certificates are valid from the time of first use, not when the certificate was issued.
The length of expiry depends on the type of module. For instance, a Profiler Optical Module (9722-1) expires after one year from first use, while a PM Optical Module (82850) expires after two years from first use.
Yes! Aeroqual products are easy to use. Watch our ‘How to Swap out the PM Module’ video to learn how to swap out the particulate modules on an AQM 65, AQS 1 or Dust Sentry product.
Aeroqual Hot-swap currently covers the 9722-1 Profiler Optical Module and 82850 PM Optical Module for AQM 65, AQS 1 and Dust Sentry products.
If an existing module is not operational due to neglect, physically damaged or broken, it can still be swapped out, but not at the Hot-swap price. Your local supplier will discuss this with you.
Older 80180 model PM engines are not covered by this program. Please contact sales to upgrade to the latest model.

A customer purchasing a Hot-swap for calibration is, in good faith, returning a
A customer with a failed (broken, not-operating) sensor module cannot use the Hot-swap for calibration. However, they do have the option to purchase a new sensor module.
If a returned sensor module cannot be refurbished, it is considered to be a failed engine. The customer will need to pay the Hot-swap failure surcharge. The failure surcharge is the difference in cost between the Hot-swap charge and the cost of a new replacement sensor module.
A failed sensor module is considered when one of the following is true:
no-data can be produced,
the red light on a profiler module is activated,
the module is physically older than 6 years
the air quality monitoring station has not been maintained (filters, etc) within the last 3 years (i.e. neglect)
Customers without an account with existing payment terms will be required to purchase a new replacement engine, however if the existing product is returned and meets the criteria under point 1. above, then the difference in cost of the new product and the Hot-swap can be credited back or applied to a Pre-Paid future Hot-swap.
Pre-paid Hot-swap must be redeemed within the following timeframe:
24 months of original purchase of a 9722-1 Profiler Optical Module Hot-swap
36 months from original purchase of a 82850 PM Optical Module Hot-swap
Customers must return-ship replaced sensor modules within 4 weeks of receipt of Hot-swap sensor modules.
The customer receipt date is determined by tracking details from a delivered Hot-swap sensor module.
The return shipment is to be suitably packed to prevent transit damage and sent via a tracked shipment service with tracking details provided to Aeroqual.
Sensor modules not returned within 4 weeks will incur the full cost of a new sensor module for each sensor module not returned in exchange for a supplied Hot-swap sensor module.
